You may need to add a link in your content that allows visitors to download a PDF or another type of document. This process is very similar to setting up a link in your content.
- First, we need to add your document to the Media Gallery. Click the “Add Media” button above the editing toolbar:
- Add your PDF/Document by drag and drop or select the “Upload Files” tab on the top left to manually find the file saved on your computer:
- Go to the “Attachment Details” section in the right column. There is a direct link to the media file you just uploaded on the bottom of this area. Select the full link by triple clicking and copy it (right-click on the text and select “copy” or by the shortcut command+c).
- Exit out of the Media Gallery clicking the X on the top right of the pop-up box.
- Highlight the text in your content you would like to be a link.
- Click the add link icon. Paste in your document URL you copied from the Media Library.
- Click on the gear icon to show more options.
- Check “Open link in new window/tab” to open the document in a new tab so it doesn’t direct your visitor away from your website.
- Click “Add Link” and you’ve just added a document to your website.
- Preview and test the link to make sure it is working properly.
