Understanding the Dashboard

Since the Dashboard is the first screen you see when you log into WordPress, it is important to understand what it all can do for you and the best way to get the most out of it.

The Dashboard gives you a quick overview of what is happening on your site. It allows you to see who is linking to you, how popular your content has been, view draft posts, check on latest comments and news, and it is also a place that you can leave important information that can be seen by everyone that helps create your site. We will discuss some of the common screens displayed on the Dashboard.

At a Glance

The At a Glance screen allows you to see the number of your blog’s posts, pages, and comments, as well as your theme and spam. Click on any of the links to see more on that topic, learn about Akismet or see the comments in your spam queue.
